The first Baldur’s Gate 3 patch promises ‘1,000+ fixes and tweaks’

The first Baldur’s Gate 3 patch will include over 1,000 fixes and adjustments, according to Larian Studios.

Company CEO Swen Vincke outlined the developer’s roadmap in a Twitter update published on Tuesday.

“We’re all very enthused by your feedback. It’s very rewarding,” he wrote. “Our focus now is fixing any issues you report, but we are listening to suggestions.”

Larian has released three Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfixes since the game’s PC release on August 3, addressing 100s of crashes, blockers and bugs. And Vincke said it plans to release another hotfix before the launch of the game’s first major patch.

One hotly requested feature is the ability for players to change the way that their character looks mid-game – something Larian has said it’s working on introducing.

Baldur’s Gate 3 registered a peak concurrent player count of 875,343 on August 13, which is the ninth highest in the platform’s history and just shy of Hogwarts Legacy’s record.

The game will be released for PS5 on September 6. It’s also in development for Xbox, although Larian has said it may require some “compromises” in order to be released on Microsoft’s consoles due to technical issues it’s struggling to overcome.
